Compensation: $9.41– $10.57 per hour depending on experience

A. Education Level:
|
-High School Diploma, or GED, or any equivalent combination
of training and experience which would provide the proper
skill and knowledge to perform duties.
|
B. Certification/Licensure:
|
-Valid Nebraska Drivers License.
First Aid/CPR certificates desired.
|
C. Experience Desired:
|
-Previous experience working with children is desired.
|
D. Other Requirements:
|
-Knowledge of traffic regulations.
-Knowledge of the local street and highway systems.
-Ability to interpret and apply Districtpolicies regarding trans-
portation of students and regulation of student behavior.
-Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students.
-Ability to clearly explain the rules and regulations to students.
-Sufficient strength and agility to load and unload handicapped
students.

REPORTS TO:

-Transportation Supervisor, and the Bus Driver.

|
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
|
|
|
|
Basic:
|
-Work involves assisting the van/bus driver with the loading and transportation of students, including maintaining discipline on the bus and maintenance of routes and schedules.
|
|
|
Frequent:
|
1. Assist driver with assigned schedules and routes as needed or requested.
|
2. Load and unload students; operate lifts to load handicapped students; secure students on bus.
3. Monitor student behavior on bus; enforce transportation rules and regulations.
4. Attend to students’ needs while being transported.
5. May transport special education students to and from school using own personal vehicle.
6. May perform summer maintenance activities including sealing parking lots and playgrounds, painting, trimming shrubs, and related tasks.
7. Perform related work as required.
