Position Details: Summer STEAM Site Coordinator - Expanded Learning Program, Grades 5-6
Qualifications: Some college preferred
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Employment: Position is from May 28 - end of July, Approximately 6 hour per day
Reports To: 21st Century Program Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Summer Program Coordinator
Fremont Expanded Learning Programs
DESCRIPTION: Plan, coordinate and implement all summer expanded learning opportunities and activities for students in grades K-4. Responsible for the supervision, management, and safety of children.

REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in an area of Education preferred.
B. Certification/Licensure: Teaching Certificate preferred but not required.
C. Experience Desired: Experience working with youth in an educational setting.
D. Other Requirements: Knowledge of principles related to youth development. Positive interpersonal, listening and facilitation skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with district personnel as well as students and parents from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability to organize and manage time effectively. Ability to use technology and record attendance data. Ability to multitask and manage program staff. Ensure a positive experience and environment that promotes and enhances student learning and achievement.
REPORTS TO: Program Director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program: Works closely with Program Director, Summer Staff, Community Partners and Volunteers in the development and implementation of engaging and enriching activities for an educational, social, and recreational summer program for youth.

1. Adheres to applicable district policies and regulations required by the grant.
2. Responsible for planning and directing daily expanded learning opportunities.
3. Coordinates with community organizations to offer activities.
4. Identify, plan and ensure a wide variety of summer learning opportunities for youth.
3. Implements and models positive discipline and behavior management.
5. Attends required training and professional development as assigned.
7. Assures that program spaces are well maintained and assigns duties as needed.
8. Communicates well with others and has sound decision making skills, versatility, initiative, high energy, and strong human relation skills.
9. Monitors and records daily attendance and maintains communication with parents and families.
10. Performs other related duties as required.
