Location: Fremont Middle School
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be a high school graduate or have GED
- Must have strong desire to work with children in a caring manner
- Ability to work effectively with staff and students
- Knowledge of computers preferred
Salary: $17.08 - $18.63 starting, per hour depending on experience
If bilingual in English/Spanish, starting rate per hour is $18.63 - $20.42 depending on experience
Employment: 8 hrs per day, during school year on student days
Position Available: August 2025
Reports To: Building Administrator

JOB TITLE: In-House Suspension Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some college work is desired
Certification/Licensure:
- None required
- First Aid/CPR certificate desired
Experience Desired:
- Some experience working with children in an educational setting
Other Requirements:
- Have an interest in young people and an ability to deal fairly and tactfully with students
- Possess a positive attitude toward education and a helpful attitude toward people
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administration and faculty
- A good working knowledge of core area subject matter and a willingness to learn
- Ability to carry out assignment in effective support of the instructional program
- Effective oral and written communication skills
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of each employee’s position includes (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description.
Basic:
- Organize and manage the daily operation of the In-House Suspension program.
- Monitor students in a highly structured educational environment. Students are under the direction of this person when assigned by an administrator for violating the school’s discipline code
Frequent:
- Directly supervises assigned students by monitoring their academic assignments and behavior
- Tutors students in areas of learning not understood and assists students in managing their time so that all assignments are completed within the assigned time limits
- Enforces established rules of conduct in the In-House Suspension room
- Once students have completed their In-House obligation and assignments, collects and organizes all academic work so that the student can return to regular classes
- Maintains student information and statistics for an In-House Summary report at the end of each semester
- When no students are assigned to In-House Suspension, is on call to assist in supervisory areas as assigned by the Assistant Junior High School Principal.
